Almost every tech company today talks about its Ecosystem. But what does it actually mean - and why is it so important?
The Simple Definition
An ecosystem is everything surrounding a product or technology - not just the hardware or code itself, but everything that makes it easy and efficient to use:
- Software and development tools
- Documentation and guides
- Business partners
- Technical support and an active community
- Standards and APIs that integrate the system with others
In other words, it’s the supportive environment that allows technology to grow, integrate, and become truly useful.
Example from the World of AI Accelerators
Let’s say you have a new, super-fast chip. If it doesn’t have:
- Drivers,
- Optimization libraries (like CUDA or TensorRT),
- Support for PyTorch or TensorFlow,
- Profiling and load management tools,
